At the beginning of 90’s, while the Grunge wave ruled everywhere, Alessandro Polinori and Federico Rosi gave birth to several musical projects wholy electronics named Puppets and Electro Alba, whose main musical reference was the great Depeche Mode. Years and years of concerts and demo-tapes led them to accumulate more and more experiences in the musical roman landscape and not only, until the bands split for inner reasons. Later on Alessandro Polinori resumed his musical activity in the electronic band Kaiser Soze (among other things winner in the Festival Feedback and protagonist in several DM Parties), while Federico Rosi had gone on with several other projects. When these band split, in the autumn 2001 the project HALO EFFECT born in Ostia Lido Rome, with the line up compound by Alessandro Polinori (synth&progr), Federico Rosi (synth&progr) and John Peverieri (vocals&lyrics), big fan of Depeche Mode and always present at dark and electronic roman clubs. The band’s aim is to create an original electronic product even remaining clear the artstic references (first Depeche Mode and generally the german electronic music, synthpop, darkwave and EBM ). The lyrics are in english in the conviction that that language, together with german, is the best language that fits well with the electronic music, allowing at the same time to have an international product. The atmospheres go from synthpop to darkwave always marked by dark shades, even when the rates go faster. During their live performances HALO EFFECT play many Depeche Mode tracks, as a proper tribute to the band they literally adore. On this subject, the wonderful debut gig on april 17th 2003 is worth to be mentioned, when HALO EFFECT took part in the 1st Great Depeche Mode 013 Electric Zone Party before an audience of 600 persons in the historic roman club Black Out. The collabaration with the first italian site about Depeche Mode (www.depechemodeitalia.com) has allowed to Halo Effect to meet Marco Cattani who was involved, with his guitar, in the Black Out live show and now he is integral part of the band as guitarist and also synth&progr. The first demo “Past Continuous” was out in the August 2003 and it was good welcomed by the audience. The live activity is gone on with many concerts in roman clubs and with fortunate concerts in Naples and in Igea Marina (Rimini). At the end of June Halo Effect have finished to record their second demo titled “Days Of Silence” that is possible to download from the site www.the-cure.it or directly in the audio section of the official band site www.haloeffect.too.it. Halo Effect has been in the Italian alternative scene since 2003 and during those years thanks to concerts and demo releases the band drew the attention of an ever growing number of electronic music fans, introducing dark, ebm and industrial influences (typical of the north european electro scene) in a sound many times defined “a la Depeche Mode”, also opening the concerts of famous bands like Melotron, DeVision, Krisma, CruxShadows or lately Covenant. In Dicember 2006: “Schwarz E.P.”, a preview of the first album, includes three original tracks, also the instrumental title-track, three remixes and one live song. In October 2007, Halo Effect present the first album called New Romantic Industry: produced, arranged, recorded by the band and mixed at Synchronia Studio in collaboration with Nicola Di Già, this cd includes 13 tracks and the Nitzer Ebb cover “Join In The Chant”. On 11.1.2008, exactly one year since the first release, “New Romantic Industry”will be available in free download at these natlabels: Afmusic (Germany), Xenobiotics Record (Germany), Ekleipsi (Italy), Abandonment (Bulgaria), Haze Netlabel (Bielorussia) and Kultura Industrialna (United Kingdom). After two years since our first debut album “New Romantic Industry”, we are very happy to announce that we are coming back with a new studio album. The second album called “The Fourth Zone” out on 1st November 2009 in digital download by Itunes, Amazon, Napster, Rapshody, eMusic, and others. The material cd will be available in limited edition only at our live shows that start in October 2009. The new album is very powerful, strong and dark, it’s synthpop/ebm/industrial oriented and contains more up-tempo songs: the sounds and the lyrics create a perfect mix, a deep and strange atmosphere influenced by the tragic days regarding of the nuclear explosion reactor in Chernobyl in 1986, until these difficult days that we are living now. But The fourth zone is not only the physical zone where the reactor is located, analyzing the other side of the tragedy we can see a new rebirth of life, a place no longer more contaminated by human life, a pure world, a place where nature is recovering space and life, a new beginning of life. The Fourth Zone could also be consider the darkest place inside everyone where we put anguish, suffering, disappointment, fragility, and all broken dreams and hopes that we don’t want to show or share, like a hidden place of the soul, where we refuge in the saddest moments of our life in hope to find the forces to go ahead. But it could also be considered like a probable photo about the world we forsee in the near future if we continue to destroy this dying planet. In conclusion, this album offers several different points of reflection, this is a conceptual album that speaking about the past, looks to the present and the future. In den 90er Jahren hatte der Grunge einen großen Publikumserfolg .In dieser Zeit begannen Alessandro Polinori und Federico Rosi eine Serie von elektronischen Projekten, wie Puppets oder Electro Alba. Hauptsächlich kam die wichtigste Inspiration von Depeche Mode.Viele Konzerte und Demo-Tapes folgten und vergrößerten ihre musikalischen Erfahrungen in Rom und außerhalb. Aber die Band löste sich auf. Alessandro Polinori nahm wieder den musikalischen Betrieb mit der Elektronikband Kaiser Soze auf. Sie gewannen das Festival Feedback und nahm am vielen DM Parties teil. Federico Rosi unterstützte andere Projekte. 2001 wurde das Projek Halo Effect in Ostia gegründet, die aus Alessandro Polinori (Synth&Progr.), Federico Rosi (Synth&Progr.) und John Peverieri (gesang) besteht. John Peverieri ist begeistert von Depeche Mode und verkehrt im römischen Elektronik- und Darkambiente. Obwohl die Verwandtschaft zu Depeche Mode, der deutschen elektronischen Musik, Synth-Pop, Dark-Wave und IBM klar andauert, ist das Ziel dieser Band, ein originelles Ergebnis zu erreichen. Die Texte sind in englischer und deutscher Sprache geschrieben, weil beide sich den Verhältnissen der elektronischen Musik und der Internationalität anpassen .Die Stimmungen reichen von Synth-Pop bis Dark-wave. Ihre Töne bleiben ungefähr dunkel, auch wenn die Rhythmen schneller werden. Im Laufe der Live Aufführungen, tragen Halo Effect viel Stücke von Depeche Mode vor. In diesem Zusammenhäng muss man den ersten Auftritt am 17. April 2003 nennen, als sie an der ersten Great Depeche Mode 013 Electric Zone Party im bekannten römischen Lokal Black Out teilnahmen. Hier gab es 600 Zuschauer! Es war ein außerordentliche Ereignis! Die Zusammenarbeit mit ersten italienischen Depeche-Mode-Website (www.depechemodeitalia.com) ermöglicht es ihnen Marco Cattani kennen zu lernen. Er und seine Gitarre wurden in den Liveauftritt im Black Out verwickelt. Jetzt ist er teil der Band als live Gitarrist und synth&progr. In August 2003 entstand ihre erste Demo „Past Continuous“, die sich gut bewährte. Seitdem teilen Halo Effect die Bühne der DM Parties und vielen wichtiger Ereignisse mit anderen wichtigen internationalen Bands wie Melotron, Cruxshadows, Greenhaus, De/Vision, Bloody und Dead&Sexy. Die Live Konzerte setzen sich in Lokalen in Rom, Neapel, Igea Marina in Rimini. Ende Juni 2004 beendeten Halo Effect die Aufzeichnung der zweiten Demo „Days of Silence“, die man kostenlos von www.the-cure.it oder von www.haloeffect.too.it remterladen kann. Seitdem treten sie oft Live auf, u.a. mit der bekannten Band Krisma. In Dezember 2006 realisiert Halo Effect „Schwarz E.p.“, die Antizipation ihrer ersten Full-lenght-Cd. Im Laufe des Auftritt Live bei Jungle in Rom, am 27. Oktober 2007 stellen Halo Effect die von Nicola Di Già gemixte Full-lenght-Cd „New Romantic Industry“. Die neue Cd „New Romantic Industry“ hat die Stimmungen von synth-pop bis Ebm, Elettro-Goth, Darkwave und Experimentellenklängen. Das Konzert im Jungle wird gefilmt und auf der ersten DVD „Harder and Faster“ escheinen. Diese Dvd enthält den ersten Videoclip „Harder and Faster“ . Nei primissimi anni 90, mentre impazzava il grunge, Alessandro Polinori e Federico Rosi diedero vita ad una serie di progetti musicali completamente elettronici (Puppets, Electro Alba), il cui principale riferimento musicale erano i grandi Depeche Mode. Anni di concerti e di demo-tape portarono ad accumulare sempre maggiori esperienze nel panorama musicale romano e non solo, fino alla separazione delle band per ragioni interne. Alessandro Polinori in seguito riprese l’attività musicale all’interno della band elettronica Kaiser Soze (tra laltro vincitrice del Festival Feedback e protagonista di vari DM Party), mentre Federico Rosi portò avanti diversi altri progetti. Allontanatisi dalle altre formazioni, nell’autunno 2001, nasce al Lido di Ostia il progetto HALO EFFECT, composto da Alessandro Polinori (synth&progr.), Federico Rosi (synth&progr.) e dalla voce di John Peverieri, grande appassionato dei Depeche Mode e frequentatore degli ambienti elettronici e dark capitolini. Scopo della band è creare un prodotto elettronico originale, pur rimanendo chiari i riferimenti artistici (in primis, chiaramente, i Depeche Mode, più in generale lelettronica tedesca, il synth-pop, la dark-wave e lEBM). I testi sono in Inglese, nella convinzione che,insieme al Tedesco, sia la lingua che meglio si adatta alla musica elettronica, permettendo al tempo stesso di avere un prodotto internazionale. Le atmosfere vanno dal synth-pop alla dark-wave, ma sono sempre caratterizzate da tinte più o meno oscure, anche quando le ritmiche sono più veloci. Gli HALO EFFECT nelle loro esibizioni live eseguono inoltre numerosi brani dei Depeche Mode, come doveroso omaggio alla band che letteralmente adorano. A tal proposito, merita di essere menzionata la straordinaria serata di esordio del 17-04-2003, in cui gli HALO EFFECT hanno partecipato al 1° The Great Depeche Mode 013 Electric Zone Party, che ha avuto luogo alla presenza di ben 600 persone presso lo storico locale romano del Black Out. La collaborazione con il primo sito italiano dedicato ai Depeche Mode (www.depechemodeitalia.com) ha inoltre permesso agli Halo Effect di conoscere Marco Cattani, che è stato coinvolto, con la sua chitarra, nel live del Black Out e che ora è entrato a far parte stabilmente della band in qualità di chitarrista live e anche di synth&progr. Nell’agosto del 2003 ha visto la luce il loro primo demo dal titolo “Past Continuous” che ha ricevuto una buona accoglienza. Da allora gli Halo Effect hanno condiviso il palco con gruppi importanti del panorama internazionale come Melotron, Cruxshadows, Greenhaus, De/Vision e Bloody, Dead & Sexy, nell’ambito di DM Parties, ma soprattutto di numerosissimi eventi che li hanno visti presentare brani originali. L’attività live è proseguita con numerosi concerti nei locali romani e con fortunati concerti a Napoli e ad Igea Marina (Rimini). Alla fine di giugno gli Halo Effect hanno terminato la registrazione del loro secondo demo dal titolo “Days of silence”, che è possibile scaricare sul sito www.the-cure.it o direttamente nella sezione audio del sito www.haloeffect.too.it. Al secondo demo è seguita un’intensa attività live, che ha consentito alla band di condividere il palcoscenico anche con la storica band dei Krisma. Nel dicembre 2006 gli Halo Effect hanno realizzato “Schwarz E.P.”, un anticipo del loro primo full lenght cd. Il 27 ottobre 2007, gli Halo Effect hanno presentato live al Jungle di Roma il loro primo cd-full length “New Romantic Industry”: auto-prodotto dalla band e mixato in studio da Nicola Di Già. Le atmosfere del nuovo lavoro variano dal synth-pop all’ebm, passando per l’elettro-goth e la darkwave, con alcuni passaggi che proiettano la band verso sonorità più sperimentali. Il concerto del Jungle è stato interamente filmato ed inserito nel primo dvd della band chiamato “Harder and Faster and Live” che contiene inoltre il primo videoclip ufficiale di “Harder and Faster”. Gli Halo Effect hanno partecipato al quarto e ultimo volume della compilation IBM con il remix di Spoilt. A seguire gli Halo Effect hanno tenuto diversi concerti ottenendo un ottimo consenso passando per città quali Bologna, Catania, Marina di Massa e naturalmente Roma dove il 17 maggio 2008 hanno aperto lo show italiano dei Covenant fino all’ultimo live della stagione il 27 novembre 2008 al Qube con Radio Rock. Dal 1 novembre 2008, ad un anno esatto dalla sua uscita, gli Halo Effect hanno deciso di rendere disponibile in free download “New Romantic Industry” grazie alla distribuzione delle netlabels: Afmusic (Germany), Xenobiotics Record (Germany), Ekleipsi (Italy), Abandonment (Bulgaria), Haze Netlabel (Bielorussia) e Kultura Industrialna (Regno Unito). E’ possibile ascoltare e scaricare l’album anche attraverso LastFm e Jamendo. Dopo due anni dal primo album di debutto “New Romantic Industry”, gli Halo Effect pubblicheranno il loro secondo album “The fourth zone” che uscirà il 1 novembre 2009 in digital download su Itunes, Amazon, Napster, Rapshody, eMusic, e altri. Il cd sarà fisicamente disponibile durante i live previsti per ottobre 2009. Gli Halo Effect hanno deciso di pubblicare in free download con la net-label tedesca “Ionium Records” tre maxi singoli remixati da bands e dj internazionali: “Hammer the gear” il 1 settembre, “Their G.O.D./Days of violence” il 1 ottobre e “LIfe Goes On/IT was nothing” il 16 novembre.
